Frizz control
We are well aware that naturally curly hair is prone to frizz, especially during the summer heat and humidity. Just because the weather is warm and sticky, does not mean that you have to have bad hair months.
Following are few home remedies to control the frizz and help you have non-frizzy curls.
Carbonated Water
After you wash your hair, give it a final rinse with carbonated water (AKA as club soda, soda water, sparkling water, or fizzy water). Due to its low pH content, it reduces the frizz.
NOTE – DO NOT blow dry your hair after this. Let it air dry itself.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix equal parts of water and apple cider vinegar (amount depending on your hair length) and keep aside. Wash your hair as you would. Give a final rinse with the concoction. Along with frizz control, this would also add to the shine.
Hot Oil treatment
You can use olive oil, jojoba oil or even coconut oil for this. This can be done once a week, since hot oil is not as heavy as a mask; it will not weigh your hair down. However, it will help strengthen the hair cuticles and prevents the frizz from taking over your head.
Choose your combs right
For straight locks, boar-bristle brushes are gentle and will help distribute hair’s natural oils. While for curls, one should stick with wide-tooth combs, to be used only after conditioner.
Apply Anti-Frizz Serum/Spray
Always apply Anti-Frizzserum/spray on damp hair and it air dry. Preferably do not use a blow dryer after this; however, if you must use, then first use a heat-protectant spray.
