India is a land of festivities and celebrations. Baby Shower or as we call it God Bharai, is one such occasion. Celebrated during the woman’s last trimester of pregnancy, this festival depicts the well wishes for the mother and her unborn child.
When invited to a baby shower AKA god bharai, that confusion always lingers as to what to give as a gift or is it better to give some cash so that the mother-to-be can decide what to do with it.

Onesie/Body Suit – A pack of onesies for each age group till the baby reaches 12 months.

Multi proportion Baby food freeze tray – You can store baby food in bulk and reheat each portion as per the baby’s appetite. 
Pacifiers – Infants will require loads of pacifiers. A pack of colorful pacifiers would be an essential item once the baby is born. 
Personalized Sippy cups for the expecting parents – This is non-essential but a light hearted gift for the parents to be. 
PS: In many Indian communities, it is considered to be bad luck to gift the to-be-parents stuffs for kids before they are born. So before you go ahead and decide to buy anything for the yet-to-be-born baby, check with the family to see if it is alright.
