Are you addicted to your smart phone?????
One of our bloggers had touch based on the topic of children being too used to the gadgets, be it TV, smart phones, tablets, gaming devices or even readers. We talk amply about the facts that the children are losing interest in actual physical games, chatting up with parents/grandparents/relatives etc because their heads are always stuck to the gadgets.
What about the other way around???
Have we looked at ourselves and considered that may be we are doing the same. One of the way children learn things are by imitation, so if we are forever stuck to our smart phones how can we expect our children NOT to be!
To determine if we as parents fall in this category, we must ask ourselves these questions:
What is the first thing I do when I get up?
What do I do the moment I return home from work?
When was the last time I hugged my child and assured her/him that she/he is loved?
Is my child feeling ignored because we are spending too much time buried in our computers/phones?
No parents consciously will do anything to hurt their children either emotionally or physically. We all love our babies to bits and want the best for them in all situations. On the other hand, it is obviously crucial that we check our gadgets as work and friends are of paramount importance too. However, the child is significant as well. We can pay heed to their little needs or pleas over a chat or a video sometimes.
