Me-time does not make you a ‘Bad-Mom’
It seems rather impossible for a mother to take some ‘time out’ or ‘take a day off’ when there is so much to do simultaneously. However, taking some time to rejuvenate is a great investment that pays off real well. As properly rested and recharged, you can be more alert and achieve much more in lesser time than drained out frustrated version of you.
Everyone needs a break from the struggles of daily living. And moms are no exception. Break-time is a sort of self-preservation technique. Allowing yourself to slow down and relax for some time will help you gain a fresh outlook and a renewed sense of perspective. The following may help you in figuring out what to do;
- Pamper yourself – Get a massage and a beauty treatment done.
- Have Fun – Go to a movie with your best friend, have a fun lunch.
- Shopping – Whether it is window shopping or looting a sale, see what treasures you can find
- Have a play date – Meet up with old friends and go bowling, swimming or just catch up on old days.
- Read a book.
- Do yoga to stretch and unwind.
- Take a long bubble bath with soft music, candles, and a drink of your choice.
- Try a new recipe (only if cooking helps you relax)
- Marathon a TV show that you wanted to for so long
- Do absolutely nothing and sleep
