Modern lifestyle, modern amenities and modern medicines are something everyone looks forward to. Most of the time, grandma’s recipes, or her old remedies for small health aberrations are not considered valuable and ignored royally.
However, there are some things from my personal experience that I know works well even though they are home grown prescriptions created by grand moms and old wives of the families’ eternity ago.
These are few of the ones that have been experimented on me since childhood and I am still standing tall and healthy and believe me… these works rather splendidly!!!
Mommy made me do this every day without fail. According to my granny, this prevented chapped lips especially during the winters.
To get clean, lustrous and strong nails soft massage nails with olive oil every day.
Though rather messy but this works like a charm. All you need to do is apply curd on to your scalp and let it sit for an hour and then rinse it off with a mild shampoo. Regular use will make the dandruff go POOF!!!
When bouts of coughs start hurting the ribs and throat, simply slash a ginger (2 inches in size) and put some salt in the slashed parts and roast it. Suck on it and the coughs subside.
This one did not vanquish the infection to its totality but it definitely keeps it under control
Boil a glass of water with a large skinned onion in it. Once boiled, strain it and let the water sit till it is luke warm. Drink this water in the morning empty stomach. This helps keeps my sever sinus infection in control.
