What are you doing this mother’s day?

Although Mother’s day is special, we actually do not need a stipulated day to thank our Moms for all they have done for us throughout our lives. She deserves all the help and appreciation that is possible for being the best Mom ever.

However, since we do have a special day for the celebration, we asked around (both adults & children) to see what they have planned for their mommies…

Shweta Iyer from Mumbai says, “We don’t really need a day in a year to celebrate but whenever possible I try to make it special for Mom. I work night shifts, so on a daily basis my contribution at home is minimal. The whole day goes in sleeping and once I am awake it is just rush-rush to go to work. On weekends or other special days, I try to compensate. We go out, many times eat out too. I cook new dishes and try to ease out her workload.

My mom loves books of puzzles like the extremely complicated Sudoku and Kakuro puzzles. I may buy something of the sort for her.

This year, I may do something for Mother’s day. She uses smartphones, so I will be buying a new one for her as the old one is now outdated. I happen to be on a week’s leave. So, we have plans to go out and take a mini vacation.”

Aniruddh from Mumbai has already started his Mother’s day celebration by taking a trip with his mom to Panchgani and a spa session at the resort there. Also on the D-day he is sending her a cake.

When asked, Sudeekhsa Pandey (age 11) from Banaras says she has the entire day planned out. She will start her day with bed tea for her mom, followed by a sumptuous Italian breakfast and juice. Her breakfast will include a self-made chicken burger. Her mother will be treated like Royalty and will not be allowed to work & she will select her mom’s dress of the day. Although lunch plans are already made by the adults, dinner will again be a surprise. She hopes to make some soup followed by salad and then main course will be Pasta in white sauce. (Awesome!!!!)

Aadhya Nath (age 7) from UK has made a card all by herself for her mommy and gifted a potted daffodil as well. (So cool!!!)

Siddhant Rao (age 5) from Mumbai plans to take his mom for the Captain America; Civil War movie and then some shopping.  (We wish we could go out with him on this date!!!)

It is lucky for people who have their moms in the same city as they are in, and then there are some people like us whose mommies are either in a different city, state or country altogether.

Team ItemMom, urges people to take some time out from their busy schedule and spend some time with their mothers. If she is not with you, make ample use of technology and skype her and let her know that not only she matters, but she matters big time, because without her you and I wouldn’t be here.

Here’s wishing all moms a very Happy Mother’s Day!!!
