Name – Bridging the Gap – A story with passionate entreaty for family relationships
Author – Shatarupa
Publication – Partridge Publishing India,
No of Pages – 91
I am always excited to start a new author’s book, more so in this case because I know the author since my college days. Her Jhumpa Lahiri-isq style of writing and the honesty of the incidents make the book heart breaking yet hopeful.
The book is an autobiographical work wherein the author tries to balance her emotions & inner turmoil and focuses on the positives of life, be it in relationship with her parents, in-laws, husband or children or her professional life.
If you are looking to read a story that talks about family bonding, introspection and a woman’s struggle to identify and assert her own identity amidst the hubbub of relationships, this is the book for you.
- Pros – Simple and heart warming insight that one can finish at one go.
- Cons – The book ends too quickly, it should have been longer.
Verdict – A great read for everyone who loves to read!
